چکیده
Introduction: The atopic march consists of dermatitis (AD), allergic rhinitis or sinusitis (AR), conjunctivitis (AC) and bronchial asthma (BA). influence concomitant diseases on AD is under-explored. We determined the relationship between personal family history with severity persistence. Methods: A cross sectional study involving patients was performed at dermatology clinics two tertiary hospitals. Inclusion criterion all diagnosed AD. Demographic data, atopy (BA, AR AC) were obtained by face-to-face interview. evaluated using Investigator’s Global Assessment (IGA). considered persistent if continued beyond age 12 years. Results: Sixty aged 21.6±17.2 participated. There 25(41.7%) AR, 16(26.7%) BA 12(20%) AC. Forty seven (78.3%) had atopy, eczema, 24(40%) 19(31.7%) 2(3.3%) Patients [OR=3.8, 95%CI 1.04 to 14.4)], [OR=9.74, 1.13 83.67) [OR= 4.00, 1.20 13.27) more likely exhibit moderate-severe Personal AC significantly prevalent in Conclusions: most common disease associated Family eczema common. Relationship between atopic dermatitis and immunoglobulin E.
Coca and Grove (1925) concluded that serum factors, which they called reagins, were present in individuals with allergic respiratory disease. More than 40 years later, reaginic antibody was shown by Johansson and Ichizaka to belong to the immunoglobin E (IgE) class of immunoglobins. It has been established that the Fc component of IgE has an affinity for surface receptors on mast cells and baso...
متن کاملRelationship between skin prick and atopic patch test reactivity to aeroallergens and disease severity in children with atopic dermatitis.
BACKGROUND The immunological mechanism in aetiology of atopic dermatitis (AD) shows significant differences from other allergic diseases. Allergen inhalation exacerbates AD lesions and AD patients' complaints decrease in house dust mite (HDM) low level environments, which reveals the importance of inhalant allergens. OBJECTIVE We evaluated the skin prick test (SPT) and atopy patch test (APT) ...
متن کاملCommon Allergens in Patients with Atopic Dermatitis
Abstract Background and objective: Being exposed to different allergens, followed by the production of specific IgE, has an important role in causing atopic dermatitis, recognizing the allergens and applying immunotherapy for treatment. We aimed to determine the frequency of common allergens in the patients suffering from atopic dermatitis. Material and Methods: In this descriptive- anal...

atopic dermatitis (ad) is one of the most common infantile diseases. immunological dysfunctions in ad patients may predispose them to infections. the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between infantile ad and urinary tract infection (uti). in this cross sectional study, we enrolled 57 patients with ad aged 1 to 24 months that referred to dermatology clinic, and 57 healthy contr...
متن کاملThe relationship between severity of disease and vitamin D levels in children with atopic dermatitis
INTRODUCTION Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disorder. Vitamin D is a liposoluble vitamin synthesized mainly in the skin. Vitamin D has several effects on the skin. AIM To assess the serum level of vitamin D in children with AD and determine its relation to AD severity. MATERIAL AND METHODS Sixty patients with AD were enrolled in the study. We evaluated disea...
